Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, located at 1139 E. Sonterra Blvd. in San Antonio, announced expansion plans to add 83,948 square feet of space at a cost of $104 million. The hospital group plans to add two new floors, 50 new hospital beds and more.

Overall, the new 5th floor will contain 40 new Med Tele beds—or beds equipped with telemetry monitoring equipment—while the new 6th floor will add 14 extra critical care intensive care unit beds,  increasing its total capacity from 245 to 299. Additionally, the expansion will include extra shelled space on the new 6th floor, kitchen renovations, and additional parking spaces.

Robins & Morton is the general contractor, and Earl Swensson Associates Inc. (ESa), a design firm in Nashville, is the architect. The project could be completed in January 2027.
