AHV building 266-unit rental community called Altura in San Antonio

San Antonio BTR Builder Adding 266-Unit Project

AHV moved its headquarters from California to San Antonio in 2020 and has since put the pedal to the metal. The San Antonio Business Journal reports the developer is planning a new community along Interstate 35. The latest project is called Altura, now under construction, is in the northwest part of San Antonio. It will consist of 266-single family rental units.

AHV is also spearheading a 500-unit single-family rental project at Brooks, called Los Cielos. It has also recently unveiled new communities on the Northwest Side in Med Center and along Loop 1604. Another San Antonio community called “Dovesky” is also slated for development, according to AHV’s website.

In spite of AHV’s bullishness in the area, the construction pipeline for the product class has been slowing since. Only 1,000 units are currently underway — short of last year’s figure of 1,800. It is has also experienced lower occupancy rates than traditional apartment rentals.
