Sam’s Club to Open Distribution Centers in St. Louis, Minneapolis
Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart, has announced plans to open two new distribution centers in early 2024 near St. Louis and Minneapolis. The new facilities are part of a multi-year growth plan to transform the supply chain at Sam’s Club and evolve the network’s end-to-end capabilities.
The first facility will open in Edwardsville, Illinois. The 370,000 square-foot facility will be located at 5710 Inner Park Drive, and serve as a distribution center and fulfillment center, creating more than 100 jobs across the region. Walmart is a large employer in Illinois, with more than 57,000 associates.
The Shakopee, Minnesota, facility will be located at 7400 Hentges Way and will serve as a multipurpose distribution center. The 365,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in March 2024 and will employ more than 80 associates. Walmart employs more than 24,000 associates across Minnesota.
