Salt Bae Cooks Up Union Square Space for Burger Concept
Chef and restaurateur Nusret Gökçe, known worldwide as Salt Bae (pictured), has inked a 6,000-square-foot lease for Nusr-Et Burger, a burger-centric restaurant at 220 Park Ave. South in Lower Manhattan’s Union Square neighborhood. It follows the opening of Salt Bae’s Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Midtown last year.
CBRE’s Eric Gelber and Jordan Kaplan represented Salt Bae, who also owns the chain of Nusr-Et Steakhouses, in lease negotiations. Their colleagues Lon Rubackin and Michael Kadosh acted on behalf of ownership. Additionally, Meister Seelig & Fein’s Christy Reuter represented Nusret Holdings in the lease negotiations.
“We had significant interest in 220 Park South from a variety of users,” said Kadosh. “For Salt Bae, the neighborhood checked all of the boxes that the brand was looking for to showcase its Nusr-Et Burger concept,” said Kadosh.
The new restaurant is slated to open in summer 2019.
