S. Florida Beach Town Selling Prime Waterfront Property

A Riviera Beach public agency issued a request for proposals to redevelop a prime piece of beachfront property. The South Florida Business Journal reports the town is looking for a developer to build a mixed-use project in Marina Village, a long-running project in Riviera Beach. The 90-acre site, at 190 E. 13th St., already has a new event center and expanded marina on the Intracoastal Waterway with watersports facilities and 140 boat slips.

The proposed public-private partnership aims to attract new office and upscale retail tenants, as well as increased parking, to the city’s downtown core. These would include waterfront restaurants, entertainment venues and hotel offerings. The town plans to ground-lease the properties under development.

JLL is serving as the real estate and development advisor for project. Responses are due Nov. 17.

As part of the project, Related Group, BH Group and Tezral Partners are planning a 20-story mixed-use building nearby at 1300 Broadway/U.S. 1. It would feature 418 market-rate apartments and 6,300 square feet of retail and office space.
