S.A. Home Sales Spike 7%, Year over Year

Home sales throughout the San Antonio metro continued steady, totaling 3,440 in August 2019, according to metrics released by the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR). The number represents a 7% year-over-year increase. Also on the rise were the average and median sales prices, with the average up by 4% ($277,114) and the median increasing by 3% ($238,400), respectively.

More than half the August homes sold — 62.4% — were priced between $200,000-$500,000, while homes priced under $200,000 accounted for 31.3% of the month’s sales. Homes priced higher than $500,000 made up the remaining 6.3% of homes sold.

“It’s no surprise to see our sales continue to increase each year, with more people relocating here for work, school, military service and other interests,” said Grant Lopez, SABOR’s 2019 Chairman of the Board. “It’s clear that such a booming real estate market is directly related to the expansive growth happening in our city.”
