RXR’s Seth Pinsky to Lead 92nd Street Y

The 92nd Street Y has appointed Seth Pinsky as its chief executive. Formerly head of the New York City Economic Development Corporation and currently EVP at RXR Realty, Pinsky assumes his new duties Jan. 1.

The New York Times reported that Pinsky’s appointment comes as the cultural and community center embarks on an extensive update to its Upper East Side Buildings. The project is meant to create more space for the nonprofit’s expansive slate of programming, and the Times reported that the group’s real estate needs factored into Pinsky’s appointment.

Pinsky told the Times he has been a patron of the Y for several years. “It’s an institution that plays a critical role in New York City,” he said. “There are so many challenges that we face as a city and a nation that require the kind of nuanced thinking that goes on at the 92nd Street Y.”
