Rockwall Mixed-Use Project to Include IKEA
A smallish 108,000 Ikea store is going into a Rockwall mixed-use project. A traditional IKEA store requires over 300,000 square feet of space. Regarding the smaller store, this from IKEA’s Javier Quiñones, “We have been testing different store formats to increase customer convenience, make home delivery more cost-efficient, and reach our customers where they live, work, and socialize.” The Ikea is expected to open next year.
The store will be in Rockwall Heights, a 65-acre development rising at I-30 and North Stodghill Road. The project is set to include roughly 350,000 square feet of retail space along with 485 townhome and condo rental units. It’s expected to have restaurants, green space and an amphitheater.
The site is being developed by Dallas-based real estate firm PegasusAblon. GFF is the project architect and Segovia Partners will be the retail broker
PegasusAblon also owns the Harbor Village entertainment, dining and shopping district in Rockwall, as well as Ablon at Harbor Village apartments.
