Rockefeller Under Contract on Trio of NYC NoMad Sites
New York-based Rockefeller Group is acquiring three adjacent buildings on East 29th Street in New York’s NoMad neighborhood where it envisions developing a 170,000-square-foot condominium project. The developer plans to demolish the buildings, and could build more than 100 luxury units.
The properties, which were held by a collection of investors, include 30 to 32 E. 29th St. (Extell Development owned), 34 E. 29th St. (W Brothers owned), and 36 E. 29th St. (Michael Aryeh owned). Rockefeller also acquired development rights from neighboring properties.
The company declined to comment on what may be planned for the properties, though said it is actively evaluating both residential and office development opportunities throughout New York City.
NoMad is located north of Madison Square Park, and has experienced a recent development surge. The Rockefeller site is next to the Gansevoort hotel, as well as Toll Brothers’ 400 Park Ave. South luxury condo tower.
