Rock Group Renews Restaurant Lease at 1271 AofA

Ted’s Montana Grill renewed its lease and reopened for outdoor dining and takeout at Rockefeller Group’s 1271 Ave. of the Americas. The 6,106-square-foot restaurant, which is the only New York location for Ted’s Montana Grill, has been in the building since 2006.

Ted’s Montana Grill, co-founded by Ted Turner and George W. McKerrow, has 41 locations in 16 states. The Manhattan location remained open throughout the recent $600-million redevelopment and transitioning of 1271 Sixth Ave., formerly the Time & Life Building and now AIG’s new headquarters.

“Given the current turbulent retail environment, we believe this transaction confirms the desirability of the building and its location in Midtown Manhattan,” said Ed Guiltinan, SVP and head of leasing for Rockefeller Group.

CBRE’s Eric Gelber and Jordan Kaplan represented ownership, in coordination with Guiltinan and Rockefeller Group’s Jennifer Stein.
