Rock Group Lands Second Big Law Firm for 1271 Sixth

A few weeks after announcing that Latham & Watkins would relocate to 1271 Ave. of the Americas, Rockefeller Group has another major deal with an AM Law 100 firm at the same property. Blank Rome will lease 138,000 square feet at 1271 Sixth Ave. in a westward move from the Chrysler Building.

“The leasing momentum at 1271 Sixth and the quality of the tenants to whom we have leased space in the building are encouraging,” said Ed Guiltinan, Rockefeller Group’s New York head of leasing. “We continue to benefit from our reinvestment in 1271, and the building’s desirable location in the center of midtown Manhattan.”

Blank Rome was represented by CBRE’s Ken Rapp, David Kleinhandler, Tim Dempsey and Zachary Weil. Ownership was represented by a separate CBRE team of Mary Ann Tighe, Howard Fiddle, John Maher, Dave Caperna, Evan Haskell and Sarah Pontius, with Guiltinan and Jennifer Stein providing in-house representation.
