Work on Roanoke’s first independent living facility got underway at Oak Street and Dorman Road. The $81 million project, called Watermere on Oak, will feature 208 units that include a fitness center, meal options and housekeeping. The development will focus on independent living, assisted living, short-term care, and memory care.

Integrated Real Estate Group, the development company for Watermere on Oak, will also build a 30-lot subdivision and an eight-lot subdivision within the community with no age restriction.

Since 2003, Integrated Real Estate Group has developed more than 15,000 units across the South Central U.S., valued at over $1 billion. Upon completion of construction and development, the majority of the communities are operated by their Integrated Senior Lifestyles and Integrated Property Management divisions. Their portfolio currently includes both Affordable and luxury multifamily communities and active, Assisted Living, Memory Care communities for seniors.
