Rivian Opening San Antonio Service Center
When it comes to electric vehicles in Texas, it’s not always about Tesla. Startup electric vehicle company Rivian plans to build its first service center in the San Antonio area. A vacant piece of land near the airport is set to be transformed over the next year. The EV truck maker will move into a still-to-be-constructed building at 8790 Crownhill Blvd.
The San Antonio Business Journal reports that CSW Development will begin the demolition process on the site which will house a 27,000 square foot project. Rivian service centers — which opened outposts in Austin, Dallas and Houston in 2022 — typically house service operations, vehicle operations, delivery and mobile operations teams.
The service center will open in the fall of 2024, which will coincide with a local installation of its Rivian Adventure Network charging stations.
