Riverway to Turn Inner Loop Ironworks into MXU

Riverway Properties acquired the Berger Iron Works site at Koehler and Bonner Streets in Houston’s Inner Loop. The developer’s plan is to convert the 2.1-acre site into The Ironworks, a mixed-use development with retail, restaurants and co-working office space.

The site at 4206 Koehler currently holds a 23,000-square-foot warehouse and 7,200-square-foot office building. Berger Iron Works vacated the property early this year, and moved to a new office at 8107 W. Little York Rd.

Riverway is working with Identity Architects of Houston for a design that will convert the buildings into retail and dining locations. The site represents the residential developer’s first move into mixed-use projects.
