Rim Forest Lumber Sale is a Historic Transfer after 50 Years of Single Ownership

Rim Forest Lumber Co. located in Rimforest, CA recently sold for $3.8 million, and the five properties the business operated out of sold for $3.6 million for a combined $7.4 million. Among the properties included in the sale were a 70-plus year-old lumberyard and a 9,500-square-foot hardware store located at 26470-26567 Pine Ave. and 26465 Apache Trail, respectively.

Jason Lamoreaux, owner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Solutions and Kyle Vizzo, Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Solutions-affiliated broker, represented both the buyer, Dave Wiest, and the seller, Butch Baumann. Wiest continues to operate the business as Rim Forest Lumber Co. The business and location are well known in the community and the sale represents a historic transfer after 50 years of single ownership.

“The opportunity to represent ownership in the sale of their life’s work was truly special. They were determined to secure the right buyer that would carry on their dedication to employees and the community. After interviewing and vetting several potential buyers to continue the seller’s legacy, the right buyer was secured. We believe the buyer, Dave Wiest, will carry on Butch Baumann’s passion and dedication, and continue Rim Forest Lumber’s incredible reputation. We were honored to assist both parties in the completion of the transaction,” said Lamoreaux.
