Richland Enters Healthcare Sector with Lone Star Heart Acquisition

The Richland Cos. of Houston officially kicked off ownership of healthcare properties with its purchase of Lone Star Heart Center in Amarillo, TX. The 4,830-square-foot medical office building at 6111 W. Amarillo Blvd. is 100% leased to Suresh B. Neelagaru M.D., who sold the property.

The asset is across from the Harrington Regional Medical Campus, a hub consisting of 30 complexes, including two hospitals and three surgical centers. Richland will assume management responsibilities for the property.

“Amarillo is the largest city in the Texas Panhandle, and Harrington Regional Medical Campus is the second largest employer in Amarillo. We feel like it’s a good fit for us in a sought-after location with high visibility offering patients quick access to a wide variety of medical services, including the VA Health Care System,” said Richland Cos.’ president Edna Meyer-Nelson.
