Richardson Returns to iStar to Head Land and Development Portfolio

iStar has hired Andrew C. Richardson to lead a focused portfolio of longer-term land and development assets. He’ll also serve as interim CFO of both iStar and Safety, Income and Growth, a net lease REIT it launched in 2017, while the company seeks a permanent replacement for Geoff Jervis, who is stepping down as CFO.

“We have made great progress in working through our legacy asset portfolio, with significant liquidity and profits generated over the past several years,” said iStar CEO Jay Sugarman. “We are now ready to accelerate our progress by bringing to market significant numbers of assets, while also developing a focused strategy for a group of longer lived assets in our land portfolio.”

For Richardson, the appointment marks a return to iStar, where he had previously served as EVP and head of capital markets. Most recently, he was CFO of the Howard Hughes Corporation.
