Retail Redevelopment Heads to City Council
A proposal to redevelop the 154,886-square-foot Great Hills Market retail center in northwest Austin will be reviewed by the city council on Nov. 2, 2017. The city’s zoning and planning commission has put its stamp of approval on the plan for the 17-acre tract at 9828 Great Hills Trail.
Once approved and permitted, the redevelopment would happen in phases, with the first phase involving six acres. Plans call for a five-story, mixed-use building with 372 apartment units, 10,200 square feet of specialty retail, 11,200 square feet of restaurant space and 5,000 square feet of fast-food restaurant space. Actual construction on the center could still be 36 months out.
Great Hills Market Center currently includes a Regal Arbor 8 movie theater, as well as a Petco, T.J. Maxx, Pier 1 Imports, Macaroni Grill and Manuel’s Restaurant.
