Restoration Hardware First Tenant at Pier 70
San Francisco’s historic Pier 70 redevelopment landed Corte Madera-based Restoration Hardware as its first tenant. The home goods retailer will open a 60,000-square-foot showroom at the eight-building, 270,000-square-foot project being transformed by Orton Development Inc.
Restoration Hardware envisions creating a “flagship gallery” in the five-story Bethlehem Steel building. The Emeryville-based developer sought to bring on a strong credit tenant to help secure funding for work to begin — including seismic retrofitting.
Redevelopment of Pier 70 is part of the Port’s vision of reconnecting the waterfront to the Dogpatch neighborhood. The overall project is planned to include nearly 70 acres of waterfront land, 1,000 residential units and offices.
