Restaurant Could Make Way for Residential High-Rise

Riverside Resources and Ironwood Real Estate have filed for a permit to develop a 44-story high-rise containing 315 luxury apartment units and ground-floor restaurant/retail space. The proposed project is being planned for one-fourth of a block at 300 Colorado St. in Austin’s CBD.

A Sullivan’s Steakhouse currently sits on the site, and would be demolished if the plans are approved. The restaurant’s general manager indicated that Sullivan’s, which is a chain owned by Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, will remain open through the end of 2017. He told the Austin American-Statesman that the Sullivan’s would be part of the new project, which is, as yet, unnamed.

There is no word on a project start or completion date, or estimated construction costs.
