“Resort-Style” Sr. Living Coming to Two Atlanta-Area Locations

Two senior “resort-style” communities are on their way to two Georgia locations. Active Senior Concepts (ASC) is developing the projects, with an estimated cost of $285 million.

Located in Oconee and Coweta counties, the developments, called Celebration Village Athens and Celebration Village Peachtree (photo), will include a mix of for-sale bungalows and cottages, as well as assisted living and memory-care apartments.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports ASC is betting that the seniors who do leave their homes will want a hospitality-focused community with plenty to do and see. Celebration Village Athens and Celebration Village Peachtree are expected to offer wellness programs and daily shuttle service to nearby destinations along with on-site pools, restaurants, gathering areas, putting greens, pickleball courts and walking paths. Oconee and Coweta counties have older populations than those closer to Atlanta — nearly 20% of their populations are between 60 and 79 years old.

The company partnered on the two projects with Jacoby Acquisitions, who procured the land just outside Athens and Peachtree City.
