Cuban, Adelson working on Dallas casino

Resort Casino in Dallas?

It’s far from a sure thing, but there are some prominent players who believe Dallas is ready for a resort casino. Dallas Maverick’s owner Mark Cuban has sold a stake in the Dallas Mavericks to the owner of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., Miriam Adelson. It’s no secret Cuban and Adelson have discussed the idea of building a Dallas casino. Current law doesn’t allow it, but both may have the horsepower to get the wheels turning with the state legislature.

The Dallas Business Journal reports the developer behind Texas Live in Arlington (photo), David Cordish, says the idea has merit. Besides Texas Live, Cordish has developed two Hard Rock Casinos and has developed a number of entertainment venues throughout the country. He was quoted as saying, “The idea of combining entertainment and mixed-use around a casino is absolutely the winning formula. There’s no reason why we can’t build a huge resort destination in the city proper of Dallas”.
