The Houston metro distinguished itself in 2017 by having the highest number of Texas companies going public in 2017. Most of the IPOs focused on energy-related companies, according to information collected by Ipreo. The energy industry, in fact, accounted for 10 of the state’s 16 IPO events in the past year.

In addition to the companies listed in the chart above, the following also went public.

  • Venator Materials, a subsidiary of the UK’s Huntsman Corp. The August 2017 IPO raised $454 million.
  • Sentinel Energy Services Inc., which priced its 30-million-unit IPO at $10 per share on Nov. 2.
  • National Energy Services Reunited Corp., with an initial offering on May 12 of 21 million shares at $10 each.
  • Silver Run Acquisition Corp. II, which raised approximately $1 billion in its March 2017 offering.
