Report: Dallas Building is Part of a National Spy Network

An East Dallas building at 4211 Bryan St. is one of several structures in major U.S. cities being used by the National Security Administration (NSA). The 176,000-square-foot structure is owned by AT&T, and contains telecommunications networking equipment the NSA uses for its warrant-less surveillance program.

An article in The Intercept indicated that the building, which came online in the early 1960s, is being used as a “Peering Link Router Complex.” Other “backbone node with peering” facilities (also owned by AT&T) are in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C.

The Intercept obtained its information from classified NSA documents, public records and interviews with several former AT&T employees.
