High Street building 239-unit Scottsdale rental community

Rental Community Going Up in Retail Center Parking Lot

High Street Residential, the residential developer arm of Trammell Crow, is planning to build a $90 million apartment community in a Scottsdale retail center. The Phoenix Business Journal reports High Street will leave most of the current structures alone and build underground parking as part of their proposal. The plan is to build 239 apartment units at what is now called Sundown Commons.

The apartments will focus on smaller units, such as studios and one-bedroom apartments, which are designed to be less expensive and more accessible to people who work in the area. In addition to the apartment building, two publicly accessible pickleball courts are also planned on the southeastern portion of the site.

The proposed four-story apartment building will join The Herb Box, Vixxo, Beginners Edge and Arizona Bread Company on the site. The center is only two-thirds rented out. The proposal stills City of Scottsdale’s approval.
