Renovation at Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center Gets Five Stars
A successful, $3.5-million renovation of the Oakland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, in Oakland, NJ, earned five-star ratings from both U.S. News and World Report’s 2017 “Best Nursing Homes,” and the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services.
“The building improvements focused on enhancing our comfortable, home-like setting,” said Josh Brown, administrator at the Center, located at 20 Break Neck Rd.
The center specializes in cardio pulmonary and orthopedic rehab, and also offers sub-acute rehab, dementia care and long-term care wings. Renovation brought new equipment and amenities to help both residents and their families. For example, the 3,500-square-foot gym now includes a smart car to help patients simulate daily living during their rehabilitation process.
“We added pull-out couches to the renovated patient rooms for loved ones who want to stay overnight. We also expanded the building’s common-area lounge space with pool tables and computer stations,” said Brown. In 2015, Tryko Partners acquired the 215-bed facility, which is operated by its healthcare affiliate, Marquis Health Services.
