Renovated Film Center Building Gets 16K in New Leases
Four companies have leased a total of 16,000 square feet of office space at 630 Ninth Ave., the recently-renovated landmark also known as the Film Center Building.
The 250,000-square-foot Art Deco building was built in 1929 to serve the film industry. It recently completed a $75 million refinancing and an extensive renovation.
“The recent strong leasing activity at the building is a clear demonstration of its appeal to a variety of tenants,” said Matthew Mandell, senior managing director for building owner GFP Real Estate, formerly known as Newmark Holdings, which represented itself in the lease transactions.
The recent leases include:
– Theater management company ATG-NY (5,218 square feet)
– 451 Media Group, a multi-platform entertainment company (5,000 square feet)
– Bon Jour USA Tours, a tourism company (3,710 square feet)
– Fellowship for Performing Arts, a not-for-profit theatrical production company (2,500 square feet)
