Related’s Grand Avenue Towers Takes Shape in Los Angeles

Related Companies revealed the latest vision for The Grand, a $1-billion Frank Gehry-designed mixed-use development in Downtown Los Angeles. The project is slated to break ground this year on a full city block on Grand Avenue at 1st, 2nd, and Olive Streets.

The plan encompasses building two high-rise towers, including a 39-story residential building and a 20-story Equinox Hotel. The project will include 436 apartments and 314 hotel rooms. The planned 200,000 square feet of commercial space will be housed in a retail podium that will include a movie theater, shops and restaurants.

Chinese real estate firm CORE provided a $290-million investment in 2016 to help jump-start the long-awaited project. Construction of Grand Avenue Towers is anticipated to begin in the fall, with completion scheduled for 2021.

The Connect Apartments conference will take place June 26. For more information, or to register, log on here.
