Related Midwest, Pizutti Team on West Loop Apartments

Related Midwest will team with Columbus, OH-based Pizutti to develop a high-rise residential tower in the West Loop, a Related Midwest spokeswoman confirms. The partnership has selected STL Architects for the 26-story, 351-unit tower at 1061 W. Van Buren St., just west of Related Midwest’s existing Landmark West Loop.

Pizutti, known in the Chicago area mainly for industrial projects, proposed a 432-unit high-rise on the site in April 2014 and acquired the parcel in July 2015, Crain’s Chicago Business reported. However, the project did not come to fruition.

“We are excited to continue our work in the West Loop following the success we’ve seen at Landmark West Loop, a marquee project that has elevated this growing corner of the neighborhood,” Related Midwest president Curt Bailey said. “1061 W. Van Buren will meet the increased demand for highly amenitized, service-oriented residences in this vibrant area.”
