Related Companies Breaks Ground on DTLA’s $1B The Grand

Related Companies and its partner CORE USA gathered with city officials and business leaders to officially turn the first shovel of dirt on The Grand, a $1-billion mixed-use development in DTLA. The site at 100 S. Grand Ave., across from The Broad museum and Walt Disney Concert Hall, will encompass two towers, one 39-story residential building and a 20-story hotel.

Related Companies’ Stephen M. Ross says, “The redevelopment of Grand Avenue has been nothing short of transformational, and we are thrilled to celebrate both the start of construction of The Grand and an unprecedented public, private, and civic partnership.”

The residential tower will house more than 400 luxury residences, while the hotel is planned for 309 rooms. The towers are expected to deliver by the fall 2021.

More than 176,000 square feet of new shops, restaurants, and entertainment space are planned, along with a movie theater complex, and a large, public plaza with a series of landscaped, open terraces.
