Reimagined Park Ave Would Feature Concerts and a Basketball Court

Park Avenue of the future could incorporate a concert space, art galleries, lush gardens and a basketball court, judging by the grand prize winner in Fisher Brothers’ design competition to reimagine the iconic boulevard. Design firm Maison’s “Park Park” scenario, which was awarded the $25,000 jury prize in Fisher Brothers’ “Beyond the Centerline” competition, would transform Park Avenue via a series of raised platforms incorporating venues offering different experiences.

With nearly 150 submissions, “We were overwhelmed by the large and enthusiastic response to this competition,” said Fisher Brothers partner Winston Fisher.  “Our intent was to open people’s eyes to new possibilities, and we hope that this competition will be viewed as just the beginning of the conversation about the future of Park Avenue.”

Another entry, Local Architects’ “Park River,” won the popular vote and was awarded a $5,000 prize. Fisher Brothers launched the competition last October.
