Real Estate Leaders to Advise de Blasio on NYC Reopening
Mayor Bill de Blasio has added a 30-member group of New York City construction and real estate leaders to the Sector Advisory Councils that will provide guidance on reopening the city’s economy. The Construction and Real Estate Advisory Council was among six new councils announced on Friday.
Members of the new council include CBRE’s Mary Ann Tighe, Benenson Capital Partners’ Lawrence Benenson, Rudin Management’s William Rudin and the Real Estate Board of New York’s James Whelan. Other councils appointed to date by de Blasio include: Non-Profit and Social Services; Public Health and Healthcare; Faith-based; Education; Surface Transportation; Labor and Workforce; Large Business; Small Business; and Arts, Culture, and Entertainment.
“These councils will provide real world guidance to ensure our plans to reopen the city make sense and keep people safe,” said de Blasio. “We are facing an unprecedented crisis, but by working together, we will come out stronger than before.”
