RE Education Program Launches in the Bronx

Yankee legend Alex Rodriguez joined with Fried Frank’s real estate department to mark the launch of Project Destined’s Bronx program this past weekend. The real estate education program, begun by successful entrepreneurs Cedric Bobo and Fred Greene in 2016, aims to transform minority youth into stakeholders in their communities.

The three-day program teaches students financial literacy and leadership development through mentorship from experts in the real estate investment field, including bankers, brokers, architects and, in the Bronx program, Fried Frank attorneys. Following the program, students make real bids on properties; if the bids are accepted, the bids are purchased by Project Destined and run, in part, by the students.

“This is an incredible opportunity for our community,” said Jonathan Mechanic, chairman of Fried Frank’s real estate department. “The youth who will benefit from this tremendous chance to learn, lead, and network will become the future of New York real estate.”
