R.D. Olson Proposes 21-Story Art Deco Hotel
Irvine-based R.D. Olson Development submitted plans to the City of LA for a 21-story 275-room hotel in Hollywood. The nearly 142,000-square-foot Art Deco-styled project on a half-acre site, acquired in 2014 for $13.8 million, is designed by the Irvine, CA office of WATG.
The hotel’s first floor includes a lobby, hearth room, meeting rooms, study areas, breakfast room and outdoor patio. All 275 guestrooms would include kitchenettes.
An open-air garden is planned on the second floor terrace, and a swimming pool and fitness center are planned for the 21st floor roof terrace. The sustainably-designed project includes four levels of below grade parking and 32 bicycle stalls.
Before construction starts, the developer is seeking zone changes to FAR, an alcohol sales permit, and rear-yard setbacks, as well as must receive site plan approvals.
