QVC Opens 1M-SF Distribution Center in Ontario
Connect Inland Empire returns on October 6. See the agenda & register here.
West Chester, PA-based QVC’s first distribution center on the West Coast opened in Ontario, CA. The one-million-square-foot facility is being stocked, and will begin shipping out products this week.
The retailer now occupies Meredith International Centre’s newly constructed Building 7, and is expected to employ roughly 1,000 people by 2020. The LEED-certified facility utilizes high efficiency systems for lighting, heating and cooling, and features a rooftop 250 kW solar array.
The distribution facility handles QVC’s product lines for the western U.S., and is expected to cut delivery times by up to four days. Previously, orders were handled from facilities on the East Coast. QVC sells goods through a home shopping cable television channel and online website.
CBRE’s Mike Barker, as well as CBRE local market experts Erik Wanland and Jay Dick, represented QVC. Lee & Associates’ Chris Morrell, Michael Fine and Joseph McKay handle leasing at the development.
