P&Z Gives OK for 89-Acre Rezoning

The Frisco (TX) Planning and Zoning Commission approved a request to rezone 89 acres on Dallas Parkway, south of Wakeland High School and east of Legacy Drive. If approved by the Frisco City Council, the 89 acres could be the site of a new, $1.5-billion mixed-use development called The Railhead.

The Railhead calls for commercial real estate including office, retail, restaurant and hotel components, situated around a central park. A maximum number of 1,280 living units is being proposed for the project. The residential component will consist of one-bedroom apartments directed toward millennials and young couples.

The city council is expected to vote on the rezoning at its Nov. 7 meeting.
