Pullman Neighborhood Gets Its First Food Hall

Chicago’s first food hall south of Chinatown held a soft opening this week ahead of an official May 16 launch. One Eleven Food Hall in Pullman is a project of Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, which has developed real estate sites including Gotham Greens in Pullman and the Whole Foods in Englewood.

The hall is being operated by local consulting company Calibrate Coaching. Last October, the company’s James Gray told the Chicago Tribune that One Eleven was conceived to be a “restaurant incubator” as much as a food hall.

“The One Eleven Food Hall is the latest milestone in the jobs, education and retail renaissance we are experiencing in the historic Pullman neighborhood,” Ald. Anthony Beale told the Tribune.

One Eleven is part of CNI’s 111th Street Gateway Retail project, adjacent to the neighborhood’s National Monument site. Plans call for eventually launching cooking classes, pop-up shops and private rentals at the facility.
