PUD Approves $400M Buffalo Affordable Housing Project

Habitat, a multifamily developer and property manager, has secured planned unit development approval for its $400 million Marine Drive Apartments redevelopment in Buffalo, New York.

This project, undertaken in partnership with Duvernay + Brooks and the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, will comprise around 700 apartment units across multiple buildings, making it one of the city’s largest affordable redevelopment initiatives.

The development is expected to begin construction in late 2024, with completion anticipated by 2029. Habitat’s Marine Drive project aims to replace outdated structures with modern, affordable housing and will retain current residents without displacement during the phased development approach.
