Publix Super Markets Opening First Store in Northern Kentucky

Publix, a Lakeland, Florida-based grocer, has expanded into the Greater Cincinnati market after signing a lease for the company’s sixth location in Kentucky. The grocery chain will open a location in the northern part of the state located at the Triple Crown Shopping Center on the southwest corner of Triple Crown Boulevard and Richwood Road.

Plans call for a 55,701-square-foot Publix supermarket and an adjacent Publix Liquors that will offer beer, wine and spirits. The store is expected to open in 2025. The move comes as part of a continued expansion by Publix in the region. Publix’s entry into the region puts it in direct competition with hometown supermarket giant Kroger, which was founded in Cincinnati.
