Prototype for the Brooklyn Queens Trolley
A possible prototype of a streetcar was on display at a press conference held Nov. 13, 2017, at the Brooklyn Navy Yard by the nonprofit Friends of the Brooklyn-Queens Connector.
The proposed streetcar line, called the Brooklyn-Queens Connector, may one day run along the East River waterfront from Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood, past the Navy Yard, to the Astoria neighborhood in Queens.
“There are key details that need resolution before this project can advance. I am confident that the City can work productively in a community-led process on issues such as route design, financing structure, and MTA fare integration,” said Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams to Curbed.
