Proposed Northline MXU Expands to 115 Acres
Developers of Northline, a proposed mixed-use project for Leander, TX, have indicated they want to expand the development from 70 acres to 115 acres. Tynberg LLC presented the expanded plans recently to Leander’s city council members. Alex Tynberg, the company’s principal, indicated he had acquired an additional 45 acres and “we are now looking at 115 acres in the core of the city, the city’s new downtown area,” he told the council.
Leander, which is in the far north Austin metro, created a transit-oriented development district around Capital Metro’s Leander Station Park and Ride, to encourage pedestrian-friendly and commercial development. The Tynberg development would be situated within the TOD, with the land containing offices, retail, restaurants, a hotel, a grocery store and potential residential options. The expanded acreage would encompass the park-and-ride.
