Proposed Fulton Co Film Studio Receives $40M Incentive Package
Called Kane Studio, the 1600-acre project would be built about 30 miles south of Atlanta near planned community Serenbe. It could bring more than 1 million square feet of sound stages to the rural community.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that Fulton County’s development authority okayed a package that would provide $40 million in tax savings over 10 years. Kane Studio could be a more than $1 billion investment. It could create between 3,100 and 4,100 permanent jobs. Jones Lang LaSalle Inc., Choate Construction Co., Foley Design Associates and Southeastern Engineering Inc. are part of the development team.
The project summary says the project “would be a next generation movie/tv studio that would enable creators of content to seamlessly transition from script to production, and to post-production and distribution, within a state-of-the-art studio campus”.
