Oak Lawn highrise in plans

Prominent Oak Lawn Developer Eyeing Tower Project

Well-known Oak Lawn developer Jim Halperin is leading an effort to build a 24-story highrise on nearly two acres at 2615 Oak Lawn Ave. The address is currently a strip mall with several restaurants and small businesses. The Halperin family has owned the 1.93 acres for the last 19 years.

The Dallas Business Journal reports the residential high-rise is expected to have 310 units in total. It will be 270 feet tall and take up about 40% of the overall project. The project is also slated to feature two to three upscale restaurants, some of which will be spread across two floors. GFF is working on the design.

The next step for the project to move forward is to submit a zoning change request to the City of Dallas, which could take up to two years.
