Prologis Plans ‘New-Gen’ Seattle Industrial Project
San Francisco-based Prologis is seeking to build a 196,500-square-foot warehouse, manufacturing and R&D project in South Seattle. The four-story facility at 646 S. Holgate St. would be one of the first multi-story facilities to emerge in the market.
The only other large, two-story distribution center in the region is Amazon’s new building in Kent, WA.
Vertical industrial facilities are increasingly becoming common in international markets such as Asia and Europe, where land constraints drive decisions. But e-commerce’s need to have distribution facilities closer to population centers is also a factor in this new generation of CRE product.
Prologis is also proposing to build two, two-story warehouses totaling more than 540,500 square feet at 6050 E. Marginal Way S. in South Seattle.
