Principle Hires New Pre-Construction Director

Rosemont, IL-based Principle Construction Corp has hired Phil VanDuyne (pictured) as director of pre-construction services. He will be responsible for estimating project costs, managing planning processes, drafting and reviewing contractual documents, coordinating with management, design and construction professionals, and providing budgets and schedules for the team.

“With more than 33 years of experience in Chicago area construction, Phil’s expertise will be a valuable asset to our team,” said Principle co-owner James A. Brucato. “We’re looking forward to working with him in his new role at Principle.”

Most recently, VanDuyne was a capital project consultant and owner’s representative for Simpson Strong-Tie in West Chicago. The project included expansion and remodeling of office, R&D and QC labs, training centers and demonstration rooms; and conversion of the existing distribution space to a manufacturing use. Before that, he was a partner at Itasca Construction Associates, Inc., where he was employed from 1984 to 2015.
