Primestor Breaks Ground at Jordan Downs Redevelopment Project
Primestor Development has broken ground on Jordan Downs Plaza, a roughly 115,000-square-foot retail shopping center in the rapidly developing mixed-use, mixed-income Jordan Downs project in Los Angeles’ Watts area. The development team was joined by L.A. city officials at the 9.5-acre site on Alameda Avenue to commemorate the construction milestone.
Primestor’s Arturo Sneider says, “Primestor deeply thanks the City of Los Angeles and HACLA in entrusting us. We are honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to work with the wonderful people of this community, and to help bring a part of their vision to reality.”
The open-air shopping center is being built as part of the Jordan Downs revitalization project in South Los Angeles, one of the largest urban redevelopment projects in the U.S.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti says, “Today is about more than getting shovels in the ground at Jordan Downs-we’re opening a new chapter in the story of Watts.”
