PREIT and Burlington Stores have agreed on a lease that will bring a 30,000-square-foot store to Springfield Town Center in Springfield, VA.

PREIT Brings Burlington Stores to Springfield Town Center, Hits Record Occupancy

PREIT has signed a lease with Burlington Stores for a new 30,000-square-foot store at Springfield Town Center in Springfield, VA with eyes on a 2023 opening.

The new tenant, in addition to newcomers LEGO® Discovery Center Lovisa, BoxLunch, Daily Thread and Carters, has driven occupancy at Springfield Town Center to a record 95.5% according to ownership. In 2022, over 20,000 square feet of stores opened their doors for operation at the property.

Philadephia, PA-based real estate investment trust PREIT intends to transform Springfield Town Center into a multi-use hub and to take advantage of its to create the preeminent family entertainment destination in the Washington, DC market. As part of this transformation, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has approved the development of 460 apartments and a 165-room hotel at the site, paving the way for the sale of land parcels to developers.
