PowerHouse, Provident Join Forces on Grand Prairie Data Center
PowerHouse Data Centers, a division of American Real Estate Partners (AREP), and Provident Data Centers are working together on a hyperscale data center project with a 1.8GW switchyard planned on site. The first 500MW tranche has already been approved through ERCOT.
The 768-acre campus, located just outside of Grand Prairie in northern Ellis County, Texas, is the first project for the recently announced joint venture. The new data center campus will be built between Dallas and Fort Worth, in the core of the Metroplex. Encompassing 24 buildings planned across three phases, the project’s first building is slated to be energized in May 2026. As a newly-rezoned site, the joint venture has secured all necessary approvals and permits, with design and engineering currently underway.
The joint venture marks PowerHouse’s second Texas project, having announced a 200MW project in the Irving area of Dallas last year.
Provident lists six projects in Texas: Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, Irving, Plano, Dallas, and Austin.
