Poway Commons’ Four-Year Process Comes to Fruition
Pre-selling is underway and the first townhomes will be offered for sale later this month at Poway Commons, a mixed-use community in the historic Poway Town Center District, according to Meridian Communities. Model homes will open in June and homes will be available for occupancy in late summer.
The pedestrian-friendly community will feature 97 market-rate townhomes and flats by Meridian Communities, 44 affordable apartments for seniors by Chelsea Investment Corporation, and 2.2 acres for future mixed-use. Meridian is building a civic pocket park in front of the adjacent Poway Library, which is planned to be complete by next spring. Poway Commons spans both the north and south sides of Poway Road, west of Tarascan Drive/Civic Center Drive.
Meridian Communities has been planning the infill community for nearly four years.
The development team includes architect McKinley Associates and Emmerson Construction. Meridian Communities is developing Poway Commons in partnership with IHP Capital Partners. The project is the first joint venture between the two firms.
