Portland’s Willamette Blocks Development Proposal Under Review
Dallas-based Alamo Manhattan’s Willamette Blocks mixed-use development proposed for four blocks along the Willamette River is under review by the Portland Design Commission. The project is envisioned for 1,200 residential units, as well as retail space and parking on Portland’s South Waterfront.
The developer plans two high-rises along the river, with two mid-rise buildings inward. The high-rises will ascend 249 feet in height, while the mid-rise buildings will be 75 feet in height. The podium-style development will encompass four-story bases.
The developer received design advice from the Portland Design Commission to address concerns such as traffic, views and the architecture. The project team is expected to return with a finalized proposal to the group at a future meeting.
